Massage therapy can help you enjoy deep relaxation, renewed energy, and relief, while promoting better health for your mind and body. We have both male and female therapists to choose from and all the therapists are AMTA members, nationally certified and licensed in the state of Connecticut. The following information is being provided for you so your experience with therapeutic massage can be as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. Our desk staff or your therapist will be glad to answer any additional questions you may have.
What types of massage are available?
Each therapist is skilled in the following types of massage therapy:
Swedish Massage – highly relaxing, long flowing strokes, light to medium pressure.
Sports Massage – customized for the muscles used most in whatever sport or exercise you pursue, medium to deep pressure.
Deep Tissue Massage – massage that affects the deeper tissue structure of the body, helps break up scar tissue both, acute and chronic.
Based on your needs, the therapist may utilize one or more types of massage therapy during your visit. Talk with your therapist to discuss which is best for you and to learn about other beneficial forms of therapy they may specialize in.
What can I expect at my first massage?
It is suggested that you arrive at the club 15-20 minutes early for your first massage. After paying for your session, you will be asked to complete a confidential questionnaire for the therapist. In the massage therapy room, the therapist will review your medical history and questionnaire, give you an overview of the session, and address any questions or concerns you may have. Certain medical conditions do warrant written approval from your physician before obtaining a massage. Massage therapists do not diagnose medical problems, prescribe treatment, or manipulate bones. Massage is not considered a substitute for medical attention or counseling.

Will areas of my body that are not being worked on be covered?
Your therapist will leave the room at the beginning of your session so you may undress and make yourself comfortable on the massage table. Tell the therapist if you prefer to leave on all or some of your clothes. Except for the area being massaged, you will be warmly covered at all times.
